May 1 - May 30, 2024

Exhibition Description:

Have you ever experienced a Superbloom? It is one of the most amazing things you can be a part of; however it is rare, divine, and the timing must be right. Last spring California experienced a Superbloom. During this time, my husband and I took the opportunity to embark on a spectacular camping trip along the Pacific Coast Highway. For a month, we disconnected from our everyday lives and soaked in all of the inspiration that the coast had to offer.

The trip had me thinking. Even though Superblooms are really rare, each year the flowers still manage to bloom but in smaller quantities. It’s sort of like people. We all have small blooms here and there, but it is rare we experience those core moments; those “Superblooms” of our lives.

I think sometimes we all want more “Superblooms” than we normally encounter in life. However, the important thing is to embrace the ones that we are offered and trust that the universe has a plan for us. The point is, as long as you are moving forward, planting the right seeds and staying on your own path, you will be rewarded when the timing is right. Individually, nature will take its course and allow us to “bloom” and “Superbloom” when the time is right.

In this exhibition, you will experience the inspiration and positive impact that I felt on my trip. I hope to uplift you and build your confidence in knowing you are on the right path and that your time will come, too.

About Nicole

While growing up in Central New Jersey, Nicole’s love for the ocean has driven her style and subject of artwork. She earned a degree in Art Education at The College of New Jersey in 2017. While teaching for four years out of college, she used her summers to invest herself into her personal art practice. In 2021, while living in Key West, Florida, Nicole decided to give up teaching for good and fully immerse herself into her work. By 2022, Nicole became a part of her first fine art gallery in Key West. She also began developing her muralist skills locally and out of state.

Being a military spouse, Nicole finds herself moving around the country every few years. In June of 2022, Nicole and her husband moved to San Diego, California. During her time there, she has refined her surfboard art practice and put on multiple exhibitions. She developed a unique style for her boards that has been described as feminine and spiritual. In this time, she traveled and completed many large murals throughout the country.

Somatic Arts Facilitator Training

IN-PERSON SOMATIC ARTS FACILITATOR TRAINING

A 3-WEEKEND INTENSIVE TRAUMA-INFORMED SOMATIC LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

Held over 3 weekends:

May 31 - June 2

June 14-16

June 28-30

Learn more + Join this transformational program

Meet your teachers Nichole + Jeanine:

Nichole Anne Ferro is a Psycho-Somatic Trauma Recovery Coach, Somatic

Educator, Breathwork Facilitator/Educator, Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Educator, Womb Medicine Women, and Ceremonialist.

She has been in the Healing Arts industry for 15 years and is devoted to

various practices of holistic healing. Nichole has over 3,000 training hours in trauma-informed; yoga, breathwork, somatic therapy, and nervous system recovery, and has over 10,000 teaching hours.

Nichole completed the year-long graduate-level program Compassionate Inquiry with Dr. Gabor Mate, 3 months certification from the School for Shamanic Arts, year-long program with Melanie Swan to become a certified Womb Medicine Woman, 50hr Somatic Psychedelic Facilitator certification through the Embody Lab with teachers such as Dr, Richard Schwartz, Dr. Peter Levine and more, and a year-long Somatic Educator certification through the Somatic Institute for women with David Bedrick, Dr. Saida Desilets, and more.

Through years of study and practice, Nichole has learned firsthand that the healing process is not linear but more like a spiral that contracts and expands. She believes surrendering to the spiral process of birth, growth, death, and rebirth is crucial to deeply understanding Self. She firmly believes we hold ancient wisdom within that is designed to heal old wounds and broken patterns that are holding us back from reaching our fullest potential.

Nichole is the Founder of Somatic Arts Academy. The Somatic Arts Academy is a school that offers certifications in various holistic and trauma-informed healing modalities. It was founded on the belief in the transformative power of the body-mind connection while profoundly normalizing the human landscape. The academy is a sanctuary for those seeking to explore the rich terrain of somatic arts facilitation, where the body becomes a canvas for creative expression, self-discovery, and holistic well-being - and you become the guide to support people’s transformation.

Nichole has developed the Embodied Breathwork Certification, and Guided Visionary Meditation Certification, and co-created the Somatic Arts Facilitator Certification with Jeanine Talento, for both in-person and online programs.

She is dedicated to helping others reclaim their body, mind, and spirit, and specializes in supporting others in reclaiming their authentic nature, reconnect with themselves, and create a life they love living.

Jeanine Talento, E-RYT 500, is a Trauma-Informed Educator, Yoga Teacher Trainer, Somatic Arts Facilitator & passionate writer. Jeanine believes in the power of healing through reclaiming the body as the central space through which we experience life. Jeanine believes that through nervous system education and embracing vulnerability, individuals can learn to revere and celebrate all parts of who they are, thus living more full and vibrant lives.

An outspoken and unconventional facilitator of 1:1 mentorships, Yoga Teacher Trainings, Somatic Facilitation courses, Retreats & Women’s circles, Jeanine brings a light hearted approach to Trauma-Informed work that normalizes and releases shame around the difficulties of being human. A firm believer that healing requires a sense of humor, Jeanine loves to infuse her lectures and trainings with the opportunity to reclaim joy, playfulness, and laughter. The foundation of Jeanine’s work is that liberation from trauma requires a collaboration of compassionate inquiry, somatic curiosity, releasing shame, and recognizing our limiting core beliefs. The mission of all Trauma-Informed endeavors is to create a safe space where folks can explore their inner landscape with patience and permission.

Jeanine’s yoga journey began in 2006 in New York City as a way to seek relief from mental health struggles including anxiety, OCD, and insomnia. Little did she know, the same perceived suffering that brought her to Yoga would be exactly what she alchemized into her power, purpose, and personalized offerings. Jeanine uses a multidisciplinary approach to body-based interventions that gradually guide her clients to orient towards feelings of safety and regulation within their physical form. Her work is invigorated by and founded on the belief that:

Soma is Spirit & your embodiment is your art.

In other words, the precious and nuanced journey back home to the body is a spiritual endeavor that opens us up to a life of more meaning, expression, and connection.

A long time student of Psychology, Jeanine is adamant about the intersection of Yoga and Trauma-Informed principles. She received her B.S in Psychology and Communications in 2013 from CUNY Queens College and has 3000+ hours of Trauma-Informed Training. Jeanine weaves the powerful topics of Yoga for Mental Health, Addiction, and Trauma into YTT curriculum in a way that is accessible, inclusive, and allows for integration.

Jeanine is committed to her on-going development as a teacher, space holder, and human being. Jeanine completed the year long graduate level program Compassionate Inquiry with Dr. Gabor Mate, six-month Introduction to Internal Family Systems with Dick Schwartz, a year-long Certificate in Contemplative Psychotherapy at the Nalanda Institute, and an Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Certificate through The Embody Lab.

Ritual Paintings

Art installation

June 1 - June 30, 2024

About Brenda Zappitell:

My work flows directly from a deep well of intuitions and impulses. Standing in front of a blank substrate challenges me to draw on my memories while remaining in the present moment. While moving back and forth—letting each brushstroke take me where it needs to—I paint rapidly, racing to make the ephemeral tangible.

I begin without expectations and work on a subconscious level that disregards logic. Guided by a primal inner voice, I surrender control to the paint and the process itself. The layers of each painting remain as evidence of my energies, each one a kind of impression that helps me move towards substance. Although I’m drawn towards beauty, I know that it needs to exist in equilibrium with imperfection, and my process is always open to the discovery of these counterbalancing forces.

Inspired by the traditions and methods Abstract Expressionism, I feel a strong affinity for artists such as Joan Mitchell and Willem De Kooning, whose work also emphasizes action and emotion over ideas. Like these artists, I strive to capture fleeting images in an improvisational “alla prima” style.”

I look everywhere to find my imagery and am entranced by nature, in particular the sky. My mark-making, though serendipitous, emanates from these many visual impressions. I want the viewer to believe that my vision expands beyond the work itself to a universe I have created. When my work takes off, it seems to have a life of its own: an inner life that reflects something of my inner life. These fleeting “glimpses” are what I offer to those who encounter my paintings, and who are drawn to their multiplying energies.

Introduction to Guided Drawing workshop

Introduction to Guided Drawing Workshop

Saturday, April 13th

2-4 pm

Workshop Overview:

🖍️ This introductory workshop invites you to discover the magic of Guided Drawing®, a therapeutic modality that uses simple prompts and mindful movement to help you connect with your inner world. Through a series of gentle exercises, we'll explore the relationship between your body's sensations and artistic expression.

🧠 You'll learn that guided drawing isn't about creating a masterpiece but simply noticing the subtle shifts that emerge as you translate your inner experience onto paper. This nonjudgmental space allows you to externalize your sensations, creating a "third self"—an objective representation of what's happening within you. This can help reduce overwhelm, gain clarity, and unlock deeper insights into your emotions and experiences.

👩🏻‍🎨 Whether you're a seasoned artist or new to drawing altogether, this workshop is designed to be approachable and welcoming. Come with an open mind, a curious spirit, and a willingness to explore the depths of your being through the simple act of drawing.

What to Bring:

A water bottle

Comfy clothes that you are comfortable getting messy (smocks will be available for you as well)

Questions:

Please feel free to email me at robinreneburgin@gmail.com.

Thank you for being here, and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Registration link: https://calendly.com/robinreneburgin/guideddrawingworkshop-april13

I'm here to share this process with you, to help you reconnect with that innate wisdom within and find your way back to a more balanced rhythm.

CHANGE AGENT CONNECTIONS:

IRL Happy Hour
for Women in Impact

Here's the link to sign up: https://girlsclubcollective.co/change-agent-connections

Tickets are $25

EVENT DETAILS:

Think speed dating, but for meaningful relationships with other amazing women changing the world. This event, hosted by founder of the Girls Club Collective Lis Best, is designed to create community and connection for women* who care about sustainability and social impact and are working to build a better future through their work. If you identify as a change agent, this is for you.

We’ll mix and mingle for the first 30 minutes or so and then move into our “power hour,” where you’ll have a chance to connect more intimately with several other women 1:1. We’ll provide the conversation prompts (and champagne and N/A bubbles). All you have to do is show up and be your amazing self!

*If you consider yourself a woman changing the world, we consider you a woman changing the world. Period. That said, we also appreciate that gender is a social construct and not binary. We are borrowing the definition of women from Pooja Lakshmin, MD. In Real Self-Care, she quotes Silvia Federici, who said, "To me it has always been mostly in terms of a political category." Pooja goes on to write, "I use the word women inclusively to mean all people who suffer under the oppressive conditions that have typically been associated with the female sex, which includes queer folks, trans and nonbinary people, and intersex and agender people."

ABOUT LIS:

Lis Best is an executive coach for women in impact, founder and facilitator of the Girls Club Collective, and host of the Women Changing the World podcast.
Since launching her coaching and consulting business in 2020, Lis has helped hundreds of leaders navigate ESG careers, up-level their thought leadership, and become more effective change agents.

Prior to her entrepreneurial journey, Lis worked as director of social impact for the world's fastest-growing pre-IPO start-up, a management consultant for BSR, and the sustainability manager at Qualcomm, a Fortune 200 technology company.

She has been trusted to speak by organizations including Spring Fertility, Une Femme, Grove Collaborative, Net Impact, and UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. She and her work have been featured in publications like Brit & Co., Create & Cultivate, Greenbiz, Ladies Get Paid, Nasdaq, and Thrive Global.

Dovecote: A motherhood circle

Perspectives Space welcomes you back, Claudia!
Now with a special offering for mothers to connect…

A circle to share all the feelings that come with motherhood. We will dive deep and talk about the love, the tears, the fun, the rage, the contradictions. A space of colors and shades to open up and connect in our unique journeys as mothers.

Motherhood can sometimes feel like a lonely journey. Many of us live far away from our extended families and lifelong friendships, we all have busy schedules and way too many distractions. But we all know how healing and reinvigorating it can be to pause, to express ourselves and feel understood.

These encounters intend to transform loneliness into empathy and connection and make the land of motherhood a warmer place for all of us to inhabit.

“Just like us, mothers, at the entrance of our caves, after we understood that it is time to come out and breathe a new air. We are here, with an open heart and attentive eyes to the outside world. Ready to take flight. Uncertain about the size and strength of our wings, but certain that our neighbors are beside us, wherever we go”. Maki Álvarez.

When? Saturday, February 24th. 10 am - 11 am.

What to bring? Your coffee or your favorite morning drink, a journal, and an open heart.

Exchange: $15 - $25

This circle is open and welcomes all those who experience motherhood.

About Alex

Alex Hussain leads the Encinitas Men's Group, a space for men to connect with ourselves and with other men, to be real, to express how we feel, to be celebrated when we're high and to be supported when we're low.

Alex has been on his own journey of self-discovery and developing authentic connections with others, leading various groups from entrepreneurs to people healing from trauma. His style of facilitating includes being present as a fellow participant, being willing to share authentically first, and making space for others to be able to fully bring their real selves.

If you or someone you know is interested in checking out our men's group, feel free to text Alex at (831) 229-8909

Guided Drawing Workshop with Robin Rene

Join Robin Rene in a nervous system, sensory-based expressive arts workshop focused on reparative action. No artistic experience is required. Only you and your curiosity!

Who: Adults only (18+)

Workshop:

During this workshop, we will dive into the Expressive Art modality of Guided Drawing. Guided Drawing is a bilateral drawing approach that is supported by neurobiological insights into human stress responses. Adults draw with closed eyes and both hands on large sheets of paper. Guided Drawing does not use imagery but the direct expression of one's felt sense. In rhythmic repetition, individuals can release tension and pain, assert their boundaries, or soothe and nurture their souls. The result is an experience in its immediacy that you can do something to help yourself and that your actions have a tangible impact on your felt sense, which can be deeply empowering.

As the name suggests, the approach encourages listening to your inner guidance. Learning what your body needs to restore self-esteem, balance, and health.

Registration Fee: $108

  • Registration fees include all materials and instruction. As well as a water and hot tea.

  • Please note to reserve your spot, you will need to sign up for this event using the Calendly link below + Venmo $108 to @Robin-Burgin.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at robinreneburgin@gmail.com.

Kundalini & Sound hosted by Riley + Olivia

Kundalini & Sound by Sound Waves for the Soul

hosted by Olivia & Riley

$44 exchange

Venmo @rileyrich20 or Zelle oliviam@nym.hush.com

ABOUT THE OFFERING:

Get ready to embark on a sensorial journey of embodied movement, breathwork, and sound healing. We open the space with aromatherapy using Young Living essential oils to ground energetically into an intention. We then move into ~30 minutes of Kundalini yoga - a 5000+ year practice that uses pranayama (breath work), mudras (hand positions), mantra (chanting in ancient Sanskrit), & intentional movement to move stuck emotions, align the chakras & alchemize the energy within. We then move to deep integration through a 45+ minute sound healing (crystal bowls, gongs, drums, chimes, tuning forks, rain stick, etc.).
The frequencies used in sound healing activate the parasympathetic nervous system to release stress & tension, foster regeneration & healing, to provide your body with deep renewal & relaxation. The collective practice allows one to access subconscious stories, expand conscious awareness, & clear stagnant energy.

Kundalini & Sound invites you to drop into the body to experience a journey within that is unique to all. You will emerge with a sense of deep renewal and relaxation.

Join us to soak in the sound!

Olivia & Riley

MEET RILEY:

Hi! My name is Riley Rich. I am a ‘multidimensional storyteller.’ I intend to take individuals on a journey through their mind & back to their soul. Whether I am capturing the essence of someones light through photo/video or guiding a kundalini practice/sound journey. I have studied many different lineages of healing ~ including Kundalini & Vinyasa Yoga (Vedic traditions), Mayan Medicine, sound frequency theory, high sensory perception energy work, & herbal practice. I am guided by the philosophy that in order to heal the human, we must both heal the earth & heal through her.

MEER OLIVIA:

Throughout the last 5 years Olivia has practiced and trained in Hatha/Vinyasa as well as a 200 hr level in Kundinyasana, which is a combination of Vinyasa and Kundalini. She was first introduced to Kundalini about 5 years ago and has been practicing ever since. She has also gone through many different sound healing trainings, energetic/vibrational healing trainings and works with Tuning Forks as another sound therapy healing modality. She's always gravitated towards learning how the body works and continues to deepen her studies with different modalities, as well as certifications in nutrition and herbal medicine. She is very passionate about connecting and cultivating relationships with animals and nature and loves gardening.
